This strangely subdued combination of Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, and a strong dose of Stream of Passion really has this proverbial knack to catch your attention. Just at the moment when the RMR office police were about to activate the terrible delete button. Then some industrial-grade ambient sounds and juicy hooks got added to the fray. And the RMR robocops took their leaves.

Cerebra is an intriguing morsel of an EP of some three short tracks. The Greek female-fronted foursome Project Renegade run a cunning mix of juicy metal. The record features alternative, ambient, and electronic elements. All of that … [...] Click to raid more!

Should we call this the law of physics of metal music? Sometimes it appears that good Melodic Death Metal can only originate from the Finnish cold plains. The reason is probably buried somewhere in the wastes of the North up yonder. Mixed with the dark, icy weather breeding melancholy and a language that nobody understands but themselves.

All this invokes an atmosphere that many bands know to exploit only too well. Just think about InsomniumWolfheart, or – again – Marianas Rest.

But when it comes to doomy Melodic Death Metal with a beastly streak, the somewhat unknown [...] Click to raid more!
