The Duality of Decapitation and Wisdom. That’s one helluva title, isn’t it? This – thing should be banned solely for the dumbfoolery displayed both in the moniker and the album cover. In fact, the bossman himself wrote a memo to staff to stop concentrating on this particular piece of loud-mouthed muck full of pseudo-occultism and chickens left whole. But for some reason, rulez were disobeyed and red lines crossed to get over the finishing line with this here record. Veilburner fomenting dissent and revolution over at RMR HQ? Looks like it. Slaughter The Giant – Abomination (2024) – Review

One thing is certain. Depravity, Slaughter the Giant‘s 2022 piece, made waves over here. Huge tidal waves. And astonishingly so, because the band’s abrasive style certainly ain’t everybody’s cup of witches’ brew.

Now, right on time for the Top 10 season, StG launch a new red-hot ballistic missile called Abomination. Judging by the cover art, it must be some monkey business in Hell’s Cathedral. Priests hung upside down and daemon’s running rampant. Or something. Let’s grab some Holy Water, if that works at all. We’re not quite sure anymore. Be afraid, be very afraid!

Isolert – Wounds of Desolation (2024) – Review

The RMR crew first encountered Isolert‘s firebrand style of Black Metal in 2016. No Hope, No Light…Only Death their debut album called itself, and – while still somewhat unwieldy – it stuck with us. Some real Black Metal, from Greece to boot. A strange place for Extreme Metal, by the way. At first, the country appears peaceful, but then you find unsavory little nuggets. Vile metal bands, some of which appeared on this zine. Rotting Christ for instance, Kvadrat,1 or Septic Flesh come to mind to name just a few.
