Taake – En Skog av Nidstang (2026) – Review

Taake - En Skog av Nidstang - Album Cover

Taake is a decade-old, well-established band of the Extreme Metal arts. Yet another renowned act that bypassed our review pipe time and again, and will thus unwillingly qualify for appearing on our n00b list. But this time it wasn’t because somehow the terrible mainstream got the better of us. It was – a wretched reputation preceding them. Same as other Black Metal bands from Bergen in Norway,1 the outfit’s notoriety was starkly apparent, even before the RMR crew had a chance to look at it.

You know, the usual culprits. Right-wing afflictions, psychopathic behaviour, violence of all couleur, purported … [...] Click to raid more!

Destructor – Tales of Glory (2026) – Review

Destructor - Tales of Glory - Album Cover

You know, when I looked at Destructor‘s band pic, the members’ somewhat fossilized countenances looked ancient to me. So much so that the geezers at the RMR Review desk looked them up. But they never quite made it onto our review pipe. One of the reasons is this affliction called mainstream and its addiction to this cantankerous slice of the label community, who look at us measly reviewers with utmost disdain. You know, the ones that will only send you streams to review from and generally thumb their noses at webzines like ours. But they gladly take the free marketing these reviewers provide, … [...] Click to raid more!

At The Gates – The Ghost of a Future Dead (2026) – Review

At The Gates - The Ghost of a Future Dead - Album Cover

Ah, the RMR n00b carousel is turning again in 2026. Who would have thought that? This time with At The Gates, destroying metal objects since 1990 with some significant absences in between. Yet another band with a proven track record furthering the metal cause. But one that – for some reason – did not make it onto our roster until now.

Now, this here record, ominously called The Ghost of A Future Dead, is going to be a weird one to review. RMR will be commenting on a record interpreted by a dead man. At The Gates lost … [...] Click to raid more!
