Stream of Passion - Embrace the Storm - Album Cover

You gotta love Progressive Rock and Metal. If well cooked, adequately spiced, and served hot, these albums play metal magic on ye. And Stream of Passion‘s debut album Embrace the Storm does exactly that.

The record gorges almost irresistibly on Gothic and Symphonic Metal elements. Not to forget that Embrace the Storm features a double female front. Well, not exactly. Marcela Bovio is the official vocalist, of course. Yet for live shows, her sister Diana joins her. A true dream team.

The record saw the light of day under the direction of Arjen Lucassen. And as we all know, pretty … [...] Click to raid more!

I have been following them around for a while already and I do like their refreshing style, mixing different medieval, archaic, and contemporary instruments into their metal stew.

RockmusicRaider Review - Train - California 37 - Album Cover

Well, who would have thought that? After breaking out from obscurity to some better, more lighted shores with their last album, Train managed to land another great record with their 6th studio album California 37.

I was very, VERY worried when I heard that they started on a new album way back then. ‘Cause Murphy sez that there is a great risk for the follow-on productions to fall into the hands of the Lord of Darkness and never return.

But here, I feel the sunny warmth of California on my skin – a very pleasant surprise. Even if Pat [...] Click to raid more!
