RockmusicRaider Video - Godhead Machinery - Praise The Flesh - Song CoverMusic videos are legion. You find all sorts, usually with bands showing off in egocentric theatrics. Jumping about in wild metal bliss, as if the punk movement got some sort of satanic revival.

Only some bring real sustenance to a metal heart with its sometimes unholy hungers. Those deliver stellar film work, supported by their trademark tune. And others just bring you an intriguing sound that will stick to you like this elemental living in your attic, to haunt you every night.

Godhead Machinery just released such a piece called Praise The Flesh. This eerily melodic Extreme Metal mix oscillating between the unholy disturbances of Darkend and the incantations of Dark Portrait just irresistibly draws you in.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Ov Shadows - Monologues - Album CoverDo you remember Darkend or Dark Portrait with their somewhat insane incantations? For both you could just feel the Dark Lord rising to prominence or sense the arrival of the child-eating Lamia. Juicily daemonic and almost disturbing, right? So, we thought it could get no better. Or more menacing for that matter. Well, wrong – so wrong.

From the ashes of the Swedish band Waning rises Ov Shadows. And it is a cold, icy storm that their début EP Monologues unleashes onto these unsuspecting earthlings surrounding them. Supported by the folks of Xperiment XIII.

The band seek – and I quote “…a portal into chaos without barriers and rules…”.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

RockmusicRaider Review - Saille - Gnosis - Album CoverSometimes you just crave it. This blazing hot crunch, seemingly coming from the fiery depths of hell and trying to destroy your eardrums. The whiff of a ritual, all ready to be performed. All this sweet dissonance in the name of the Dark Lord just ignites this urge in me to slap some corpse paint on my face, put on my leaded boots and don the spikes.

And Gnosis, the latest and fourth release of the Belgian band Saille, does exactly that. You really feel like moving down the hallway, beyond yonder red door and down the dreaded stairs into the reeking darkness.

Many Black Metal gigs drone you to death with this abyssal sound, subdued drums and crabby rasps that really don’t raise any emotions.Got hooked? Raid this some more...
