Knoxville, TN, huh? In the bible belt? Not necessarily known for its abundance in metal bands. You’ll get your fair share of Heavy or Southern Rock. And for sure all sorts of country outfits that will try the plains of the heartland.

But here we got the Canadian/American band Gone In April featuring their sophomore full-length album Threads of Existence. And they truly feature metal the way we like it.

But they do not opt for the easy road.

They’re offering a mix of Gothic and Symphonic Metal style that will make you hit the back button. Right when you wanted to [...] Click to raid more!

Ah, groovy! The first track Die of Thirst just started to blast out of my headphones, taking me on a journey. Where is my snazzy headband and embroidered, henna-colored sleeveless jacket before I continue? This harkens back, way back in time to the druggy, psychedelic times Hard Rock was born out of blues and stuff.

Reminiscent of Hammerfall in many instances, the album for sure does not break any new ground. But whatever ground they break presents itself with an absolutely stellar enthusiasm and technical prowess that puts other debuting bands [...] Click to raid more!

Never judge anything by its looks! I tell ya. Don’t. The garish album art of the newest Gloryhammer album Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards with its purple pinkish hue and green Lego monster just got my teeth hurting in a heartbeat.

And it is a good example of why not.

Gloryhammer present you with insanely catchy lines, melodies that will stick to you like honey in your hair, presenting their parodical metal cheese with enthusiasm and energy that will wither away the mighty egos of other bands to nothing. By Loki!

In short, Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards will [...] Click to raid more!
