Death of Giants‘ Ventesorg got banned back into the waiting loop earlier in 2023. Not because the record lacked in quality, but because the time wasn’t right for yet another emotional rollercoaster back in May. You see, the RMR crew indeed covered records dealing with psychological trauma in the past – and that avalanche of raw emotion always hit us at some level. So, the time must be ripe for such a piece. The theme, fil-rouge, or storyline is an important pillar of any one great album. To choose the right one demands skill and careful attention. And it’s used as a vessel to drive a crisp narrative, to jolt the songwriting in the right direction, and to keep it snappy and brisk. And most of the time, this works out just beautifully.

Oh boy. Yet another band whose name is Legion. There are so many Lithas out there, it truly boggles the mind. On top of that, the master supreme – Andrew Black – and his one-man outfit are difficult to find online. And that spells doom for good marketing. So, what are they going to do to stand out from that notorious crowd? A difficult proposition at best. But then, what can you do, the terrible underground takes it all, right?

When Seethe bubbled up the review pipe, we were fascinated. This was some refreshing new piece of rock that had energy to spare. A still somewhat local band from Portugal finally raised its mighty voice and – blamed Zeus for it. And thinking about it, he pretty much got to carry the hat for everything if I remember that correctly.
