Red Cain, where art thou? A Tribute.

Red Cain 2026

Red Cain has been with us off and on for some time. The RMR crew first got wind of this Calgary-based outfit back in 2016, some 10 years ago, when their self-titled EP aired. It was a funky piece and somewhat new territory for a still young-ish zine. But, truly, the power prog fueled flamboyance and outstanding musical prowess started to impress us back then already. A trend that continued over the years and to this day.

Batushka or Patriarkh, the Art of the Choice!

The conflicted and neverending tale of Batushka is on our mutual minds yet again. Exactly. None other than these guys. This here crew covered the machinations around this act until around the end of 2019. That was the time when both accusers headed to court in earnest. And boy, do the legal mills run slowly back in Poland. It has taken both iterations of Batushka and their angry, fearless leaders eons to find some closure. Alien Metal Music Listener - Playlists

Did you know?

RMR sports playlists! Since its meager beginnings, the crew generated roughly 1’100 reviews spread over around 700 bands covering a riot of different genres and sub-genres. That’s a pretty impressive number, given the lack of manpower and an abundance of life events getting in the way all the time. After all, we only have 24 hours in the day, plus the night if need be. An operation fraught with unpaid labor and a day job to finance all that pain and misery.

This means that RMR sits atop a vast heap of predominantly heavy music waiting to … [...] Click to raid more!

Blasts from the Past 2024: Prog meets Metal Wiolence!

Nostalgic Rock Band with Juke Box - Blasts from the Past 2024

What can I say, we can’t help it. Our revolutionary genes kicked in yet again in 2024. Rulez have been broken and oldish content was covered with abandon. Well, the sinning wasn’t quite that severe. But the selection of Blasts from the Past is kinda juicy nonetheless, ranging from Prog geekery to brvtish metallic wiolence. The kind of thing that will keep you entertained and your hackles up at the same time.

Welcome to a new selection of crazy alloys and strange archaeological finds!
