The RMR crew just covered Lacuna Coil‘s 2025 Sleepless Empire piece. And the merciless judges over at the RMR Review Desk found the band’s newest chunk of alloy quite to their taste. Now, if you remember, the last two records, Delirium and Black Anima, found effusive praise from all corners of LC‘s fan universe. And these two pieces were indeed quite impressive.

Oh yeah, baby. Time to stop wobbling about strange soundscapes and back to burning off some mental fat. And that’s best done with unapologetic furious metal, stuff the usual classical music connoisseur would not touch with a ten-foot flagpole. Noisome metallic items that the RMR crew cannot really resist.

So, descend into This Gift is a Curse‘s unhealthy and wickedly heathen realm. An unwelcome apparition of a beast so vile it might make you decamp in a hellbent hurry. Meet the Heir, bow your head in submission, and be afraid. Very afraid.

How do you lure good ol’ RMR into writing a review? Well, send a bunch of out-of-this-world psych tracks and strange noisy objects garnished with an unspeakable record title to us. That’s how. And let’s face it. We have a weakness for well-written weirdness in an out-of-the-box setting. But submitting this kind of material can be a double-edged sword, of course. Because bad quality stuff filled with absurdities will be treated differently.
