They’re like satellites that never connect to planet RMR. Bands that somehow float about our very own solar system, but more on an impossibly erratic course than the usual ellipse. It’s a bit like those comets that make no sense because nobody really understands what they do once they’re in intergalactic space.

And it is bands like Saor that buzz about our space but never quite reach the surface of our metallic abode. Our review pipe without Caledonian Metal. That’s not normal.

Rogga Johansson is probably one of the most prolific creators of heavy music out there. There’s a seemingly endless stream of Death Metal projects he’s calling his own or is involved in. And sometimes this makes me want to contact this guy to help poor old RMR figure out how one manages all that complexity without going insane.

I said it before when we covered their ominous clip Hierophant a few months earlier. For some undefined reason, the old metal warriors of Septicflesh never quite made it onto the RMR review pipe. It’s not that their brand is bad Extreme Metal. It’s just inexplicable, and perhaps it’s also the awful stench of the mainstream that held the RMR reviewers back. Also, in today’s world of metallic abundance, one has the tendency to take freely from the bottomless underground. And – sometimes – we forget that even established bands still produce decent metal, too. And that’s a fact.

Indeed. It looks like the folks over at Officium Triste really are in mucho trouble right now. A short while ago, the RMR crew enjoyed a deluge of tears with the folks over at Celestial Season.1 And now, more great Doom Death Metal is heading our way. Rise to the Sky the outfit is called, a Chilean one-man show. And they want a funeral, every friggin’ day. Woe, that truly calls for an ocean of tears.
