When I first read the title of Rorcal‘s newest pile of filth, I had to laugh. Silence – the contrary to what one expects from any of this band’s vanta black offerings. In fact, peace and quiet is what you will yearn for once the record is done with you. And it comes with a whopping 42 minutes of insane heaviness, so take heed.

It’s true that Porta Nigra‘s 2020 epos Schöpfungswut didn’t quite sync as well as it should with us. The record was one of those love/hate affairs. The godly theme was snazzy enough but – sometimes – the songwriting got stuck in a loop which didn’t quite help matters over at the RMR review desk.

What about – some Brutal Death Metal lost in translation with Technical Death Metal? You know, extreme ferocity that won’t change its attack vector until you either fled or were trampled by the horde. It depends, I guess. On the day and the level of rage that the Dark Lord delivers.
