At first, we got confused with Operation: Mindcrime of Queensrÿche. How come a record sounds so ’80s when the label says that it is made in 2003?

Okay, our bad, the researcher somehow did not connect the dots correctly. This was when the remaster happened. But the original record indeed dates back to 1988. So, all’s well in metal universe again.

Yet confusion does suit this band well. It snugly goes together with the hullabaloo around Geoff Tate in 2012, a time when the band fired him along with his wife and others of family and friends. They probably … [...] Click to raid more!

But this … thing juicily draws you in, a magic metal pull. And down you go through the rabbit hole, where overheated amps shred a growling sound made for the true metalhead. Such stellar beginnings and the ensuing performance will be very difficult to beat on the next record.

So, with some trepidation, the RockmusicRaider crew stood in waiting for this new offering from the metal hotheads of Stortregn. Will Emptiness Fills [...] Click to raid more!

Progressive Metal is a European affair. Right? This is what the Europeans think at least. And this annoys many American bands to hell and back.

But the EU prog nerds have a point. There’s just no real cool prog that emanates from across the pond anymore. The only thing we seem to get these days is preposterous news about how their government behaves itself. Okay, you will find exceptions like the excellent Moon Haven that RMR just recently reviewed. But then, these guys are arguably more on alt-metal territory than anywhere else.

Now think about some Progressive Metal that somehow [...] Click to raid more!
