RMR is rummaging about the metal underground yet again. And I mean some hardcore underground. Félonie‘s the name and De Sève et de Sang1 the game. Created by a one-man show that currently only sports a sparse number of followers on the band’s Facebook page and not much social media coverage at the time of writing this piece.

One of the major stepping stones to a great record is a pristine production. No friggin’ doubt about it. But methinks that a number of bands didn’t quite catch that one yet. And when this juicy little detail is overlooked, then lackluster things like this one and this one happen. And that’s often a pity. Because all the good ideas are usually right behind the curtain, only they won’t quite come out and shine.

The 2016 record Conduit of King Goat already prominently featured on the RMR blog. And all that despite of yours truly in a way. Because – at the beginning – I was not too amused with that snazzy new outpouring of doom. The record thus took its sweet time to mount in pressure and kinda reach the green zone. You know, the one that will get this reviewer to write a few words. But the band, somewhat to my surprise, finally succeeded with a pretty good rating.
