KRockmusicRaider Review - Krokus - Album Coverrokus spawned a few remarkable records in their early days. Names like Pay It In Metal, Hardware, Metal Rendez-Vous (with which yours truly felt the vampire pull of this band) come to mind. And sweaty, rocky concerts in “the pit” come back to memory. But nothing mentioned before really blew the true Heavy Metal record Headhunter of 1983 out of the water, their 7th studio album. Not equaled then and not ever since.

And a word to the album cover: The metal skull and bones together with the name Headhunter – just superb. A fitting visual to a very #metal album. The disc also features its very own epic spicy stories: For instance, Chris Von Rohr got himself fired from the band later in 1983.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

Krokus – Dirty Dynamite (2013) – Review

RockmusicRaider Review - Dirty Dynamite - Album CoverHoly Momma! Just reviewed the newest 2014 AC/DC record. I was kind of looking for some electrical charge in there (not even supercharge, mind you) and not finding it. And here I start on my newest copy from the Swiss Band Krokus and their 2013 album Dirty Dynamite and – wham – I am clinging to the wall, being hurled there by some stellar Metal style Hard Rock. Slam – Bang!! Just wanted to have a little midnight music kind of thing. And now this! This is just rockingfuckinggood!!

And this is what was expected from the AC/DC soldiers for their somewhat wrecked 2014 record. Yet here I get it from good old ‘Krokus‘ – done and demonstrated already one year earlier.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

Krokus – Hoodoo (2010) – Review

RockmusicRaider Review - Krokus - Hoodoo - Album CoverWell, well! Who would have thought that Krokus would ever again get together and produce a new album called Hoodoo! This really was a great surprise back in 2010. And then with such a rocky Heavy Metal piece!

Of course, the Swiss Heavy Metal band ‘Krokus‘ would not be themselves when they would not sound like AC/DC in their Bon Scott heyday – well kind of. Only this time this style direction is much more pronounced than in former productions.

Now, Mark Storace still has it in him. The old fire still ablaze, albeit a bit quieter than a few years back. Indeed, this whole band of aging rockers still can show a lot of skills to other bands in terms of what good, old Heavy Metal really ought to sound like.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

AC/DC – Back in Black (1980) – Review

RockmusicRaider Review - ACDC - Back in Black - Album CoverOkay, I get it – we write the Year of the Lord 2014 and this AC/DC record is so old it should already have turned to dust. Along with everything else that lived back then. Right? But you know what? Back in Black did not descend into oblivion. And many of them bands are still present today. The ones that rocked through music halls already way back in time. Okay, admittedly a bit more worn out they are indeed these days and not so fresh anymore, but still commanding sizable audiences.

And I do agree that the only thing they really know how to do (and constantly deliver) is good, old, solid Hard Rock (some call it Heavy Metal and I tend to agree) and they hardly changed over the years.Got hooked? Raid this some more...
