Newsflash: Hibria lights the XX Birthday Cake!

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Hibria - XX - Album Cover20 years have passed, believe it or not. The speedy Heavy Metal and Power Metallers Hibria just released their very own birthday present. Appropriately called XX and signed to Test Your Metal Records, their new album covers three new tracks and four live performance samples from all across their past offerings.

Hibria got this Brazilian machine going by 1996, starting off with a demo in ’97 and never stopping since. Now, after a score of singles, splits, live albums, re-issues and five full length albums with new material, it is now time to fire up the birthday cake with this newest EP-ish concoction.

Talking about the new material: Still infused with the usual Hibria #metal power, the band takes a much more progressive course on the first two tracks.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

Intermittent Digest – Tome III

RockmusicRaider - Intermittent Digest - Tome IIIHowdy, fans and friends! Months have passed again way too fast since the last point of the situation (as we say in French) and already it is time to halt the horses again and take stock. The first full year @ RockmusicRaider – 2015 – has passed and we start to approach mid-year 2016. By Loki, things are moving fast and I am not getting younger. So, what happened since Tome II. I can say one thing: Dark, dark is the going, when the going gets tough.

Felt waves of Black or blackened Metal are coming our way. I am amazed – seems to be a sign of the times.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

RockmusicRaider Review - Hibria - Hibria - Album CoverSomeone is knocking on Heavy Metal’s door! Big time. And who is brandishing these fucking pipes? ‘Tis must come from Ronnie James, but this dear friend and companion met the other side for a while now. It is Iuri Sanson of the Brazilian Power and Speed Metal band Hibria. And this on their self-titled 2015 amazingly rocky album. And this stuff they produce is really good metal – for most parts! Old style metal too, kind of showing the Great Old Ones of Heavy Metal where the new masters are.

I really like the drum work provided by Eduardo Baldo. This is not just the whoom-tchack you usually get, but much more complex structures.Got hooked? Raid this some more...
