Wow! We found ourselves some nexus here. Pop metal on steroids with a taste of Britney Spears. And this one featuring a female front and two more male singers.

It is kind of a vocalist overkill of sorts. And all that voodoo is delivered without the feathers that you would have gotten from Lauri and his gang! One could describe it as total Pop and Disco Metal, fully out of control, but with a few solos made by Olof Mörck. Those got my attention though – not bad at all.

First, I was confused. Very confused. What does Harry Potter do in my metal world?

Here I am listening to a newcomer called Serious Black composed by some very well-known names in the metal genre. But – to our good fortune – this did not happen in this new record. Which is a big relief.

OK, it is now a given, folks! Their style is fully anchored in Pop Rock. But there’s nothing bad about that. If you do not like their style, don’t bitch about it,

Not sure if this is really good, shifting away from their former style into the Pop Rock arena, that is. And some of my co-reviewers call this Hard Rock, err yeah. To their credit, still some (but only some) of their metal sting that was more prevalent before has been sustained. But by and large the Finnish band The Rasmus has landed a pretty good, but very gloomy next step in their career.

I was quite pleased to listen to some crunchier sound emerging in their 7th studio album Black Roses. The record started extremely fast. At #1 in the [...] Click to raid more!
