RockmusicRaider - Elderblood - Achrony - Album Cover

We did it again. The RMR deck crew pulled a record out of the review pipe by the sheer force of the album cover. The dead body hanging from a cross positively screams blasphemy and brutality at the audience. And the photo that comes with an original size of 666 x 666 pixels coaxed yet another evil laughter out of our raw throats.

And truly so, Elderblood‘s Achrony does its first impression credit. After yet another useless intro, The Great Fire of Sacrifice leaves no doubt where this is could be leading. Down-in-the-pit, harsh, reasonably blasphemous Black Metal. Preferably, … [...] Click to raid more!

Death Metal and Rogga Johansson are one of a kind. If there’s anybody in the metal multiverse who qualifies as an ambassador for that specific genre, he definitely is da man.

This guy doesn’t just make his brand of favorite music, he actually lives it. The list of active band projects is so long, it gives you a headache just to browse through them. To name just one, Paganizer, with its rough Death Metal offering, is probably the best-known outfit he successfully haunts.

Welcome to the realm of Oomph! and Rammstein, burning dicks, exploding dildos and all. Plus the wide wastes of electronically tainted metal the movement Neue Deutsche Härte (NDH) likes to inhabit. Welcome to my Dark Side left its dark abode, and it loudly captured our attention.

Eli Van Pike with their brand of electronically laden Industrial Metal decided to plow those very fields many other big bands already occupied for a while. Yet, their … [...] Click to raid more!

Evanescence, from Nu Metal to – Pop? An editorial.

RockmusicRaider - Evanescence - Album Collection

Polarization. That’s what comes to mind when the RMR crew starts discussing Evanescence and their career. Some think that Amy Lee can do nothing wrong and everything she and her mates created so far is just dandy. Others, however, feel that the band sorely got on the wrong side of pop over the years. A (not so) happy conversation of groovy chatterboxes but no resolution on the corporate stance the mighty RMR office suite should take. Sounds like those modern and totally wretched politics, doesn’t it?1

So, what’s it gonna be?

Early Evanescence, and then some.

Since its inception, … [...] Click to raid more!
