RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Doc Rotten - Sick & Suffering - Album Cover

It is insane, Doc Rotten continually remind me of old, pugnacious punk bands. A hint of The Pogues, raw and without the latter’s Irish veneer. A sip of grunge straight from Nirvana, and the brutality of the Sex Pistols.

And then this uncanny resemblance to old punk rock glories somehow got mixed up with some early Green Day in a sick kinda way. To top it, these guys did not resurrect themselves from the UK, but hail from Trenton, NJ in the good ol’ US of A. Land o’ Trump and whatnot. Newsflash: Blood of the Dragon – by and for Therion!

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Therion - Blood of the Dragon - Album Cover

Blood of the Dragon, Therion‘s limited edition collection of covers that just released this March 2018. This is an eclectic piece of work not seen to date in the illustrious career of the metallers from Sweden. And – maybe – their next will even be better, right?

In cooperation with Stygian Crypt Productions and Possession Productions, the band compiled a savvy selection of covers on two CDs. The first one in tribute to Therion by a number of bands. And the second disk with covers recorded by Therion along all these years the band has been active. That’s … [...] Click to raid more!

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Malacoda - Ritualis Aeterna - Album Cover

Malacoda flapped about the RMR office’s mutual conscience for a long while already, like one of them big fat vampire bats. The ones from places where the moon reigns supreme with its big, shiny fangs. Their EP Ritualis Aeterna initially released in December 2016 and now got on global distribution by this January 2018.

Named after a character in Dante Alighieri’s Inferno, Malacoda take the idea of Gothic Metal to the next level. The band paints this vivid, slightly decadent debauchery of soundscapes in bold baroque and Victorian strokes. Some sort of delicious, epic pandemonium, slightly reminiscent of Kamelot with [...] Click to raid more!

RockmusicRaider Review - Karkaos - Children of the Void - Album Cover

In 2017 the Canadian metal adepts Karkaos unleashed Children of the Void, their sophomore full-length record.

I really liked their somewhat peppery brand of metal, this mix between Arch Enemy-infused Melodic Death Metal and loads of elements of Power Metal that always kept yer juices flowing. The band already released a pretty powerful video for Kolossos, the 3rd track of the album.

Karkaos now doubled down with a new video called Tyrants. This is the grittiest of all tracks on this album, displaying a dark and sepulchral, yet speedy brand of powerful Melodic Death Metal. Some real [...] Click to raid more!
