Just listening to the streamer screamer extract The Apathetic Plague from Eohum‘s latest EP Ealdfaeder. And they are going deep down. Deep, deep down to the essence of Black Metal, with a somewhat doomish and atmospheric tinge.

Then out of the black abyss they hit you with some Progressive elements in their tune. By doing so Eohum create their very own brand in this vast Black Metal universe.

Well, by Thor’s mighty hammer, that is really not bad.

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - The Hypothesis 2016

They emerge from the deadly winter lands of Finland. That is what their page says. And indeed, they boast a very own brand of Melodic Death Metal. One that mixes progressives with loads of electronics. A pretty impressive first offering of the Finnish band The Hypothesis.

In preparation for their upcoming debut album Origins due out in spring 2016, the newcomers from Helsinki released their newest video Eye For An Eye. The Italian Hard Rock and Heavy Metal band The Phoenix just got their new debut EP My Turn To Deal off the ground this February 2016. Pri Studios in Bologna handled the recording.

The band features a somewhat old-fashioned and traditional rock and metal style that is refreshing to hear in this world of endless and endlessly changing metal flavors and nuances. 

The Phoenix came into existence back in 2011 and reach us from two locations, both with their own share of attraction. And those are San Marino (not on the beach) and Rimini (very much on the beach).

Newsflash: Swedish Endbite unleashed their newest 2016 album!

Rockmusicraider Newsflash - Endbite - Decadent Life

It’s a Decadent Life, the newest album of Endbite released in January 2016 comes along in a refreshingly rocky gown. They project a real, down-to-earth, kind of old-school rock’n’roll, at times a bit Black Sabbath-ish in flavor. Often veering off onto Hard Rock territory, even getting a somewhat metallic tinge at times. All of this comes complete with some pretty serious soloing and riffing. 

Impressive that, keep it up, guys!

I laud their courage to include Reggae-style tunes into that rocky mix of theirs, which spices stuff up some. No dreadlocks detected yet, though.
