Okay, let’s be clear: This is about the Greek band called Blind Justice. Not the hardcore punk nitwits from New Jersey, or the folks from the UK, Italy, or wherever they all come from.

And whoever said that time machines don’t exist? 

If you like your Heavy Metal featuring a ’70s/’80s style with some juice to go, then Blind Justice (the Greek outfit) and their debut In The Name of Justice is a band to lend your ear to.

Okay, fire up your cauldron. Then, add a mighty dose of the early personification of Within Temptation, a dose of Epica with an equal measure of early Nightwish. Mix some age-old Styx-flavored electronics into it without disintegrating into Amaranthe-esque antics. 

Boil and stir well.

This will about describe the style for the debut album The Reins of Life of the Italian band Degrees of Truth. But in truth (no pun intended), the above oversimplifies their offering greatly. The band describes their style as Progressive Symphonic Metal, and I would agree.

Methinks that 2016 was not exactly a great year for the alternative and progressive scouts out there. You know, the ones holding the torch while rushing forward into the unknown. And whilst some of them are still out there lurking in the RMR review pipeline, a few made it into the blog.

This so happened with The Chronicles of Israfel (correctly spelled, I assure you) and their newest full-length A Trillion Lights, Tome II.
