The RMR crew is a weird bunch. Instead of going for the easy, high-rolling stars of the rock and metal world that would net us gazillions of clicks and wild riches, we often pick bands with no name and even weirder styles.

That trait saddles us with pretty pig-headed adepts of the underground and no social recognition to speak of. Yet again, these records often contain that fresh material, still untainted by the greedy little hands of big labels. And that’s often more alluring at the RMR office tower than honey is to bees.

It is good that not all bands and artists fall off the deep end and indulge themselves in pseudo-hip-hop, and/or some sort of bastardized Latino tunes. You know, those cookie-cutter tracks that overwhelmingly populate the hit and chart lists of radio stations.

And I admit, after much metal, a dram of Salsa with pretty hot rhythms will do you good. As long as it is genuine. If not, this quickly veers into overkill. Often these fake tunes are so simplistic that it actually hurts to even stay with them longer than a few seconds.

It took me a while to figure out where I already heard this kind of free-wheeling style. This chanting about the soundscape that kinda goes all over the place, but still keeps you glued to the boombox. Even if it is not quite ‘your style’.

Lenore S. Fingers it was, from Italy. Alternative Metal of sorts with a somewhat confusing song structure. Only here, Space Cult present a similar tune but fully embedded on rocky shores only. With no metal anywhere in sight.
