Sometimes they do wake up again after all from their endless beauty sleep. Like the proverbial mummy returning from the dead, Imhotep and all. Metal bands sometimes take a hiatus – a pause to reflect. Not that the band members themselves personally do nothing. It’s just that band activity dies down to an inanimate state in suspension, very much like death itself.

Talk about boundless energy. I am listening to the 2015 3rd studio album Time Stands Still of Unleash the Archers. And holy shit, these guys take off like a fucking rocket on steroids. Only this is one of those hate/love affairs all over again.

Something is rotten in this record that has received mostly positives to date. When frankly, it is not all infinitive bliss. Yeah, you heard that one right: It is technically flawless, but looking at it as the sum of all parts? Not so sure.

At just some 40 minutes of air-time and a meager 8 tracks, with a new frontman the band just hired off The Rainbow bar on the Sunset Strip in L.A., a record really needed to be good. The classic and 9th studio album Heaven and Hell from Black Sabbath will qualify – to an extent. And yes, to an extent only. ‘Tis not all great and shiny disco lights.
