RockmusicRaider Review Tiamat Scarred People - Album Cover

You know what? The Swedish band Tiamat‘s 2012 album The Scarred People sounds like Moonspell on a sunny day. Minus the evil menace the latter exude throughout their productions.

I know, the Moonspell line was already present on the Wildhoney review, but what can I do? You could also argue that it is some weird mixture of Type O Negative and The Sisters of Mercy.

The stylish turncoat attitude is very prevalent with Tiamat. Yet, whatever you would like to say, this is one of their strong points. They clearly do not want to be put into silos and I like that.

Then her other talents and projects came to light and prominence. Such as the Kiske/Somerville records that have brought her some considerable fame. And here she is again, with her own production and debut album Alloy of her gig Trillium.

So, excitement reigned and I could not wait to listen to this new record. Just Looking at the excellent album art and some samples found on YouTube got my expectations running high.

But – hells [...] Click to raid more!

RockmusicRaider Review - Train - Bulletproof Picasso - Album Cover

This is the Year of the Lord 1984 and we are listening to The Police, featuring Sting.

Right? Nope.

It is actually present-day Train and their opening song Cadillac, Cadillac, even imitating the Caribbean lilt that the former and long dissolved band mastered so well. Speak about a truckload of transformation compared to their former offerings. And that already at the start of the album.

This is how the band’s new 7th studio album Bulletproof Picasso opens up. And it is not really with a volley of deadly artillery fire that will boost you out to space.

Kind of [...] Click to raid more!
