Dawnwalker - The Unknowing - Album Cover

Dawnwalker record progression: Ages, 2020, 58 minutes, Black/Death/Prog/Post, all still somewhat metallic. House of Sand, 2022, 43 minutes, Post Metal, Progressive Rock, loads of ambient musings, and some psych. And lastly, this year’s The Unknowing, 38 minutes, mostly alternative and psych/prog rock, a wee bit of hidden ambients, and a few Post Metal moments. Interesting, isn’t it?

Dawnwalker is a free-wheeling act, to say the least. One that seems caught in the good ol’ 2-year Loop ov Creators’ Purgatory of ever-recurring new releases. And they have been at that particular game since 2016. However, the Law of … [...] Click to raid more!

Alcest - Les Chants de l'Aurore - Album Cover

This seems to be the season of the ethereal Post Metal and pseudo Post Black concoctions. The eclectic Eva Can’t just got some undue attention lately. And their fare truly sails in the same or similar waters the folks of Alcest usually occupy. So, it only behooves us to give Les Chants de l’Aurore a hefty shake to see what gives.

Because until now, the wheezy geezers over at the Review Desk always kicked it back into its corner after they played the first two songs or so. Meaning, the rapture everybody expected somehow left the building before the piece … [...] Click to raid more!

Eva Can't - Emisferi - Album Cover

Eva Can’t, one of the weirdest band names out in Metalsphere. The RMR crew came across this here outfit a few times, but it never quite clicked. Somehow we always were busy with something else. Or their eclectic style didn’t quite sync with the undercurrent of the day.

After a series of highly malevolent Extreme Metal records, our brains were about to explode lately. So, something more thoughtful would suit nicely to soothe the Review Desk’s overheated neurons. Fortunately, My Kingdom Music just came out with one of their offerings that often managed to pique our interest in the … [...] Click to raid more!

Tomorrow's Rain - Ovdan - Album Cover

Some records sometimes take a little longer to sink into the RMR crew’s consciousness. And often the time must be right for them to get a review. Tomorrow’s Rain‘s Ovdan1 sailed about the sumpy depths of our review pipe for a while in search of an exit. But – the Review Desk’s been busy busting the nuts of Extreme Metal folks of the smelly underbelly of the metal multiverse. So, we now seem to be in sensory overload and ready for a welcome bit of moody blues, some thoughtful woeful soul, and melancholy galore. Ovdan is here and … [...] Click to raid more!
