Eva Can’t, one of the weirdest band names out in Metalsphere. The RMR crew came across this here outfit a few times, but it never quite clicked. Somehow we always were busy with something else. Or their eclectic style didn’t quite sync with the undercurrent of the day.

Liv Kristine never quite ‘clicked’ with the RMR Review Desk until now. She undoubtedly has been a force to reckon with once she appeared on our feed as the lead for Leaves’ Eyes. That was when Symphonic Metal was en vogue and kicking and she was one of the most prominent female metal vocalists out here. Transition. That’s what comes to mind once you fire up Final Coil‘s new chapter The World We Inherited. You see, their 2019 piece The World We Left Behind for Others never quite made it through boot camp here. A heavy listen, relatively rough-hewn, and often a bit frazzled around the edges.

Yet here, you get the increased power of a dronish version of Gojira on steroids, a new-found heaviness, and increased refinements that weren’t quite there before. As always, the time must be right to write reviews. The writing process of such a recension is as much an artistic process as it is for a music album. Well, maybe not quite that elaborate, but you get my drift.

So, at the beginning of the terrible year of the Dark Lord 2022, XCIII‘s1 newest offering Void just did not talk to us. Impossible to wrap our minds around something so avant-garde, it just wouldn’t fit the RMR crew’s Extreme Metal damaged brains of mid-January.
