2024 may very well turn into a new year where abject metal malevolence hits hard all over again. Seems to be a sign of the time with all that upheaval going on in the world around us.

So, here’s to Totengott from – Spain (not Germany). Starting out as a Celtic Frost cover band, they found their very own sound in some weird thrashy, doom-laden Black Metal thing. And it’s a sound that piqued the interest of the folks over at the RMR Review Desk. Which can be good – or bad, depending. And yet, magic spells galore spew forth … [...] Click to raid more!

Black Absinthe, the ambassadors of this formerly forbidden fairy drink that comes in at 85% alcohol,1 are again on the prowl. Since their short blurb Early Signs of Denial, the band didn’t produce much … [...] Click to raid more!

Raider - Trial by Chaos - Album Cover

One would think that anything with ‘Raider‘ in its band name should get onto this webzine. Something like – immediately because the RMR crew over here usually has a soft spot for namesakes in metal band multiverse. Yet, the folks at the review desk were pussyfooting about the record for long months without rhyme or reason. Too much aggression in one record or just abject laziness? I guess, we’ll never know. They’re a tight bunch over there. Chaotic trials straight ahead.

Alright! If you’re looking for measured slightly oldish Death Metal à la Rogga Johansson, Raider ain’t … [...] Click to raid more!
