RockmusicRaider Review - Riti Occculti - Tetragrammaton - Album Cover

The Occvltists are on the loose again. Earlier in 2016, RockmusicRaider already covered ritual metal, Black Metal style to be precise – with Darkend. But Riti Occulti dance to a different tune. Exceedingly different.

The Italian band saddles you with a pretty sticky ceremonial brand of Blackened Doom Metal in Tetragrammaton. Stuff that sounds genuine and authentic. But hey, if you don’t believe me, check out the video below.

As the title suggests, Riti Occulti dive deep into Kabbalistic lore. The record does follow a pretty sturdy theme and logical flow, backed by corny lyrics that are pure … [...] Click to raid more!

Reveries End Edge of Dark Waters Album Cover

Here is an interesting one!

At first, you might think Edge of Dark Waters of Reveries End is dime-a-dozen Gothic Rock with some Metal. All heard, done, and gone out of fame and fashion something like 10 years ago. The kind that makes you want to paint your lips black and slap on some sickly pale color to your face.

Let me warn ye: If you look for warm and cozy melodies to carry you along, whilst you enjoy your crackling fire, then DO NOT open that door (open this door instead). If you are just a fan of lighter versions of all things Black and Doom Metal, DO NOT open that door. If you are ready to face the dark, howling abyss of one of the better Extreme Metal and Black [...] Click to raid more!

Rusty Pacemaker – ruins (2015) – Review

Rusty Pacemaker. Quite a stage name, ain’t it? Well, fear not, rock and metal fan – ’tis all about music. Rusty hails us from Austria, home of outfits like Illuminata and Summoning; a known turf for Rock and Metal.

It must be the steep valleys over there spawning this kind of tune. And it is his authentic craftiness that really got me interested to look at ruins, the sophomore full-length album released earlier in 2015.

Rusty Pacemaker is an (almost) one-man band, scarcely seconded by Lady K on some tracks and, more prominently, by Franz Löchinger on drums. But more to that later.
