Reveries End Edge of Dark Waters Album Cover

Here is an interesting one!

At first, you might think Edge of Dark Waters of Reveries End is dime-a-dozen Gothic Rock with some Metal. All heard, done, and gone out of fame and fashion something like 10 years ago. The kind that makes you want to paint your lips black and slap on some sickly pale color to your face.

Right? There is some truth in that, but not so fast.

‘Tis a pretty good record that should be worthy of your time. Because you’re gonna find a helluva lot of pretty cool facets to this one single, round disc that at first looks [...] Click to raid more!

Rorcal Creon Album cover

I just covered Éohum in a newsflash, writing that these guys really take you far down to the abyss where Black Metal dwells. Now, it can be worse, much worse.

If you are ready to face the dark, howling abyss of one of the better Extreme Metal and Black [...] Click to raid more!

And it is a disturbing piece of work.

You start listening and you cannot stop. This particular stretch of tune must be bewitched. Not that it is overly melodious. Well, no, it actually is. But then it isn’t – disturbingly isn’t.

Have I confused you yet?

Wilderun‘s devilishly complex and self-released sophomore album Sleep at the Edge of the World will do that to you. It [...] Click to raid more!

Slap Betty Nothing out of Nothing

Fancy some real crunchy rock to go with your burger and beer? Well, try some Slap Betty from the Baltic Sea city Kemi in Finland and their newest item Nothing out of Nothing. Complete with hot, runny-nose sauce and sticky fingers.

Their smoky, raspy brand of punkish Hard Rock with a metallic hue will certainly wake you up alright. And help with digestion too, ’cause you are gonna do a little dancing and headbanging once you start listening.

Looks like, at least for the time to record the disk, Slap Betty were able to keep track of their guitarist, and did not lose him somewhere in [...] Click to raid more!
