Well, gosh. RMR speaks to the seriously defunct. Our deckhands sometimes love to reach back into our vast collection of albums and pull out a record that didn’t make it onto the review pipe. And often, those old pieces belong – or belonged – to bands that gave up the ghost in the meantime. That’s quite sad because many of those outfits showed insane promise. But for some reason, this bunch of reviewers here didn’t pick up on it when there was still time.

What else can you get out of France apart from great food and leisurely culture trips? ‘Xactly. Black Metal, lots of that. Already the French language presents itself well for satanic messaging, as Rotting Christ already aptly demonstrated1 years back. Then you got those reveling in the most recent massive church burning in France. Or – again – the ritualistic folks from Corpus Diavolis that RMR took a liking to already for their former piece of 2017.

Slania, Slania! Voice of a distant past. Ode to Helvetian and Celtic times, when the tribes ruled. As far as they could until the Romans arrived and made a mess out of it.

Yet perhaps, this may be a tad too much glorification of a time historians hardly know about. When tribes (supposedly) ruled on the land today called Switzerland. A story about people long gone and dead. And we don’t even know if they ever existed in the way imagined. It only appears that the Romans did have a few difficulties conquering these people.
