Ah, yes! The early signs of the year point towards a more abundant reappearance of Progressive and Doom Metal in 2017. Even if 2016 in itself was not bad already. And – looking at the RMR pipeline – there is already an inkling of many such delights.

We are not necessarily talking about the known bands only, but also a plethora of relatively unknown gigs. That is good news, as these genres are in need of bands with new ideas coming on board.

The Italian band Tethra with their sophomore full-length offering Like Crows For The Earth comes along with an interesting style package.

2016 was a pretty good year for all things doom, methinks. RockmusicRaider just released a review on the US band Khemmis and their kind of progressive and melodious doomy self. And – wham – here we go again. 

The fearless RMR scout team just unearthed a tasty morsel of a similar ilk from very late in 2016. But mostly delivered in best, growly Doom Death Metal fashion – with clear vocals and croaks expertly mixed.
