RockmusicRaider Review - Incursed - Amalur - Album Cover

The blasted July 2017 EP The Slavic Covenant of Incursed did not impress the RMR deck crew. Too many oldies and not enough goodies, I can tell ya. Bands need to produce new, awesome material that is unique and people will want to hear. Not endlessly regurgitate old stuff or go for weird pop covers.

The mighty Symphonic Metal front chicks from Exit Eden recently tried to pull that pop cover stunt as well. The outcome was – well – bizarre to say the least. With tracks ranging from juvenile wet dreams to age-old pop disasters that we all hoped [...] Click to raid more!

Speaking of which: Here is a contender to metal fame that renders Amon Amarth and their Viking friends awfully cheesy.

We are speaking about SIG:AR:TYR and their newest metal contribution Northen. I never quite knew that Viking Metal adepts brandished their tune in good ol’ Canada. Until I came across the band’s last record Godsaga. It took them some very long six years to … [...] Click to raid more!

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Mister Folk - Compilation Vol 4 - Album Cover

What did I just read lately? Ah – yes – it went something like this – and I quote: “Always be yourself. But if you can be a Viking, always be a Viking.”

By that token, did you ever get the urge to spiff up your insights on Pagan, Folk, or Viking Metal? Or perhaps you simply want to get some ideas on what juicy slab of music to procure next?

I might just have the solution for you. The Italian site Mister Folk kind of regularly issues compilations of stuff they cover over time.

They lately published the Compilation [...] Click to raid more!
