RockmusicRaider - Tuomas Holopainen - Life and Times of Scrooge - Album CoverNo, it is not Metal. And it is not Nightwish – for sure, whereas there are similarities as described further down below. Tuomas Holopainen‘s 2014 solo project The Life and Times of Scrooge is nothing more (and nothing less) than a soundtrack for a story. A graphic novel – that never quite became a film – kind of in waiting for a film project to emerge. And it is a great story, by the way.

RockmusicRaider Review - Within Temptation - Mother Earth - Album CoverKind of changing direction, but still following the vein of its predecessor Enter, the Y2K 2nd full studio album Mother Earth of the Dutch band Within Temptation is an astonishing piece of work.

Perhaps a bit too much in a hazy, tree-hugger kind of style, but still very varied. And with a few extremely good tracks in them. They called their new style ‘Celtic’ whatever in hell this might mean. And very importantly, they got rid of the Death Grunts that really were never very good with them.

Good thing, that!

And in [...] Click to raid more!
