The RMR officescape is usually not too keen on publishing videos. More often than not, you get them YouTube clips working exaggerated theatrics, on a bed of low-fi MP3. And in tandem frequently hacked to death, like a killing by Freddy on a full moon night with atrocious camera work. But hey, sometimes the mix just works.

So happened with SAATE, a Swedish Metal band. Their newly released offering The Conjuring mixes sturdy metal musicianship with a tasty storyline. Nothing overdone or overwrought, yet the recipe to success is right on. I also relish the slight menace emanating from [...] Click to raid more!

RockmusicRaider Review - Gone in April - Threads of Existence - Album Cover

This one dealt with deathly matters of the straightforward, earthly kind, if we can call it that.

Instead, most like to take the lighted safe road and just produce the same thing in a different robe all over again. Now, some have seen the light (no pun intended) and started to put refreshing energy back into what never was. For instance, Diabulus in Musica and Epica both issued pretty sturdy new records that got my … [...] Click to raid more!

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Red Cain - Red Cain - Album Cover

Let’s wallow some more into the Progressive Metal swamp that got quite some attention lately at RMR.

But to safely get there we need to perform some magick: First, take two large spoons of progressive. Then mix with a large dose of groove, and lavishly add a goodly shot or two of Moonspell. Heat the cauldron, bring to boil, and stir well.

Then sprinkle with powerful riffs, and you got yourself the self-titled debut EP brought to you by Red Cain. And it is sturdy stuff waiting for ye that risks blasting yer socks off.

The Canadian band from Calgary just [...] Click to raid more!
