Is it fall yet? No, not quite. We are about to reach summertime. When the weather is nice, y’know, that kind of thing. Yet, when I leafed through the review pipe I found a dark, melancholy type of album. Not made for happy, sunny, and airy times. And it is from last year to boot. One that patiently sat in the RMR review pipe for an extremely long time.

So, why the wait? You see, the time just needs to be right for this kind of music. If you are in the mood for trve metal, then a review of [...] Click to raid more!

And a huge tsunami it indeed proved to be. The chart and certification numbers just speak by themselves. Scorpions sold an insane [...] Click to raid more!

Once desolation and doom in metal takes your fancy, you probably need to look no further than My Silent Wake. Former works like Damnatio Memoriae were already right up there with the likes of My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost. Or with a dramatically less meaty version of outfits like Loathfinder.

Yet, the band’s gothically tainted, painfully bleak, and barebone approach to Doom Death Metal always allowed them to carve out their very own niche in this genre.

Then again – never shy of experiments – Ian Arkley launched himself into Invitiation to Imperfection in 2017. A [...] Click to raid more!
