Sometimes the process of reckoning and reasoning @ RockmusicRaider is unfathomable. No rhyme nor reason seems to be apparent when it comes to record selection for the ever-important review list. The one that decides – sometimes on a whim – who’s gonna get on the blog.

I had a complaint.

It all centered around the lack of folk on the RockmusicRaider blog. A sentiment that the RMR deck crew heartily supported by the way. The zine got a pretty tough metallic shine over the last months – growls, corpse paint, and all. And this is just dandy of course, no contest. But our credo also leans towards the more folksy aspects of the music multiverse.

RMR already covered a number of bands from Cyprus. Blynd or again Arrayan Path come to mind – to name just two. But never did we get a band like Infected Syren on the review list that seems to originate from the London East End much more than coming from an island in the Med.

And they are sinners. You don’t think they are? They are, for sure. Vile, rotten language. Spitting about the stage. Loud, brutal, and fast guitar play with reckless abandon. Butch Balich was really productive in 2017. First, he managed to get on the RockmusicRaider radar with his Arduini/Balich act. And this one got a pretty good reception already. But – of course – Dawn of Ages was a side project of his, as we all know.
