Well, busted: Here is one of my favorites. RMR going mainstream billboard chasin’! What is the world coming to? 

Train, faithfully headed by lead singer Pat Monahan and supported by long-time members Jimmy Stafford and Scott Underwood (left the band in 2014, by the way), always get me up to a good mood again.

The compression hits you first. And that is unfortunate. Yet, the often Heavy Metal flavored Doom Metal style of the US band Crypt Sermon nevertheless managed to keep our attention.

Out of the Garden is the first full-length album of this young band. And the RMR deck crew really dug their savvy style and crunchy delivery right off the bat. This band truly wields a pretty hefty Doom Metal ball. One that flies true, straight and remains solidly on target.

Whoa! What a nice slab of metal! When I first started to listen to the 11th full length album Extinct of the Portuguese band Moonspell, it did not impress me much. The record just did not stick. But then their tune started to get glued to the inside of my eardrums. And slowly, but surely got into my mind and bloodstream somehow. What the hell? Some fucking voodoo right there.

The more you listen to the album, the more it grows on ye. Mind you, it is not ‘conquer by attrition’, but you need some peace and leisure to really listen to what is there. … [...] Click to raid more!

Well, I will be damned! Symphonies of the Night is actually not bad at all. Still some sort of compound brand of the Symphonic Metal universe out there. But much improvement over the Norwegian/German band Leaves’ Eyes last record Njord I reviewed some time ago.

For those who have read it, the flat delivery of the last record did not impress me much. Not much substance and not much of anything else.
