The RMR crew just covered Eluveities latest video that found highest praise from the review committee at our mighty office tower. But a short while earlier, Faun joined forces with the Swiss folk metallists for their video Gwydion. And this is – in and by itself – a stellar idea.

Faun are of course known for their pretty sumptuous video productions. You’ll always find a pretty snazzy storyline based on some mythical character or ancient legend. RMR's Top 3 Videos & EPs 2021

It’s time for the second installment of the best videos and EPs awards on the RMR ‘zine. Our crew’s first attempt last year was a pretty snazzy success, so we’ll continue with that second major annual Top 3 list with a new installment. Now, whilst 2020 was a pretty fertile ground for shorter offerings, 2021 turned out to be a bit more frugal.

This was especially true for videos. Many of the clips we saw over those last 12 months were the typical band-in-action pieces. So, nothing to really write home about, they’re all kind of similar. Methinks that the … [...] Click to raid more!

Ah, dope. Faun are gearing up for a new album in 2022, following their dreamy 2019 piece Märchen & Mythen. AND they are (finally) back with a fresh set of moving pictures.

The band is known for its pretty sumptuous productions, as in Feuer or Walpurgisnacht. Mini-movies that we’ll always prefer over the ubiquitous band-in-the-wilderness thing. And we’re hopeful that this clip here will lighten the load of the pretty mediocre offering of videos covered so far this long year of 2021.

But fear naught.

When working on Faun‘s latest record Märchen & Mythen, I came across an undercurrent or two worth mentioning about this band. But those – understandably – steadfastly refused to integrate too well into the review. So here we are with yet another piece on this decidedly talented German Pagan Folk band.

And on the menu are – you probably guessed it – the birthing pains the band went through after the last major change of direction and its current and future implications.
