The RMR crew just covered Eluveities latest video that found highest praise from the review committee at our mighty office tower. But a short while earlier, Faun joined forces with the Swiss folk metallists for their video Gwydion. And this is – in and by itself – a stellar idea.

Faun are of course known for their pretty sumptuous video productions. You’ll always find a pretty snazzy storyline based on some mythical character or ancient legend. You guys ever heard about this newish outfit called Tvinna and their newest video The Gore? Well, neither did we. But it was a pretty cool fall surprise.

To find Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie) in full gothic metal make-up on an electronically challenged Pagan Folk piece is not something I did quite expect to see this year. But once we found Laura Fella (Faun) and Fiona Frewert (also Faun) on the list of that very same roster, the RMR deck crew had to give this new video a try.

Katja Moslehner left the Medieval and Pagan Folk masters Faun in 2017. If you remember, the lady joined in 2013, just in time for the release of the much-contested record Von den Elben.

Her era led trough those turbulent times that spawned the follow-on records Luna and Midgard. Albums that – together with the aforementioned Von den Elben – enjoyed (and still enjoy) an undeniable and pretty fulminant success. And this at a time when Faun faced significant attacks from an increasingly virulent fan base.
