Monumental change took place within the confines of Eluveitie. Anna Murphy and her entourage (or faction, as evil tongues have it) left the band in 2016 seemingly in protest. And that meant long-time drummer Merlin Sutter and guitarist Ivo Henzi left with her to found Cellar Darling. Or – as the lore goes – Merlin got left first and the others chose to follow suit.

Here I am going to hunt – for once – well outside of my usual haunts and dark forests of yonder badlands. Lost at sea, like Jack Sparrow with his compass pointing to nowhere. And this lands us back in spice trade nirvana, with creaking planks, and salted beef for supper.

After all that harder Metal stuff I reviewed lately, it is time to get to something a little softer and more reflective.

What better choice would there be than Passenger with their 2014 release and 6th studio album Whispers. Or more, Mike Rosenberg with his latest and best made with some studio musicians.
