Sometimes marriages actually do work. Deviser – the Greek Black Metal band – and Sakis Tolis from Rotting Christ teamed up and released this tasty little video called Black Mass.

Whilst a bit simplistic and repetitive in structure, the raw Black Metal power, and inherent melodic elements exert a pull that will make you come back for more.

And don’t we like this kind of flavor?

Dark, sinister, and very ritualistic – with a hint of delicious evil just lurking around the corner, somewhere in the dark shadows behind the altar.

The new year is still fresh, so what better moment than this one to reflect on some old metal for a change?

Old? The ’90s are old? Well, yeah, if you look at the rapid-fire development all things metal have taken since then. We sure show a totally different landscape today if compared to all these years ago.

And for sure again, if you look at the style changes Rotting Christ took over the years to the present day. Triarchy of the Lost Lovers really got us a fresh look at things and delivered powerfully well.

Ah, the devil communicates in Italian. How very fitting. Black Metal moving closer to Rome, spiked fists and all. But then Darkend are speaking in tongues on The Canticle of Shadows – many tongues.

Mixing English with Italian, French, and Latin into the fray. A real tower of Babylon, but what else would you expect from the devil? Right?
