The first full year for RMR went by and a great many records were reviewed. A wild ride it was and still is, with challenges galore, some overcome and some still lurking nearby. This list covers records that got released in 2015. And who would have thought that the black section of metal would be getting such attention during this year? Certainly not me. I am looking forward to an even more eventful 2016 and the pipeline does look pretty much filled already – but this is only the beginning.

Wow!

Harsh Teutonic sounds pouring out of my earphones from the rainy, water-logged flats of Hamburg in good old Northern Germany. And you will find a few more soundbites of the same ilk on this disc.

Rooms is like the possessed evil twin of the usually somewhat genteel Progressive Metal genre talking to you. The one that has gone down the Black Metal road, and then got second thoughts.

Okay, I am hooked. The Austrian synth pop Black Metal universe gets me feeling all funny inside. Especially if this talks to my benevolent Depeche Mode nerve that was long thought dead, but now tries to resurrect itself. 

Seriously!

Summoning with their 2013 Old Mornings Dawn are marching down their straight Roman road to Middle Earth still after all these years. To be more precise, it is 7 long years of waiting – incidentally the critical period in any kind of relationship.
