After two short blurbs on cover albums by Therion and INK respectively, we are again going at it. This really starts to look like a new trend over here at the famous RMR office suite. I guess a serious talk with the office manager will be in order. 

This time the victim is the track Sensorium of Epica. Taken from their first album The Phantom Agony that came on-line some 15 years ago. Complete with a very young Simone Simons in her beginner’s shoes.

You know, the RMR crew is always looking for the bands looming outside of the mainstream. Those that lurk in the murky depths of gloom by the side of the road. The bands looking for the unusual. Those who don’t give a damn where today’s undercurrents flow.

INK has been a consistent blip on our review radar in that department, for sure. Their Avantgarde-infused style prompted already a few listens of their 2016 album Loom. Whoa, we got moving pictures from Within Temptation after their last full-length Hydra. At long last. Based on their upcoming album Resist from Within Temptation the band again treads known paths of pseudo-sci-fi themes in a futuristic setting. 

True to their style, The Reckoning is yet another song with a guest contributor, this time with Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach). This has a long tradition in the Within Temptation universe. Yet it needs to be said none of those hybrid productions ever produced stellar results and this one is no different.
