Sometimes persistent alternative records show up in the RockmusicRaider review pipeline. And they – annoyingly – continue to haunt you throughout your day until you give in and write about it.

The band Cyclocosmia in all its spidery glory is one of those. The band just unleashed their latest EP Immured this January 2017.

And theirs is a captivating tune. They mix the weirdness of Todtgelichter with the serenity of Darkher with astonishing ease. As with the latter, the question poses itself, if Immured should qualify as metal or not. And again as before, the band gets this metal tinge … [...] Click to raid more!

Already the cheeky start of their video Falsarium with the Kumbaya chanting weirdos wins this band a mention on the RMR logbook of cool music videos. Just when my internal what-the-fuck emergency switch wanted to kick into action, this screaming rock piece started in earnest.

I had to laugh so hard when the sorry acoustic guitar was ripped out of this guy’s hand and the sound kicked out of the ground like a fucking rocket into space. Good one! But more to that later.

It must be the long, cold nights in Finland that drives people to music when the wind howls through the empty tundra and frozen forests. And you got a friggin’ wave of ’em bands rolling down on ye from yonder lands.

RockmusicRaider just did a piece on Moonsorrow and their stellar latest offering. And covered a felt gazillion of Finnish bands since the blog’s beginnings.
