Okay, it is Punk Rock, but a hefty dose of it. No, actually this disk is so Progressive Metal, Frozen Sand just got themselves a partner in crime. Hell no all over again, ’tis Metalcore, like from Finland of all places.

But I must beg to differ again. The False Sanctuary from the Canadian band All Else Fails is all of the above. I have rarely heard a band that managed to marry all these styles together in quite such a comprehensive and alluring fashion. Dodecahedron graced us last year with some excellent fare. Icy cold was the embrace, and blazing hot the Extreme Metal. In the meantime, we enjoyed Vitrun of Carpe Noctem in all its terrifying splendor. Together with many others that must remain unnamed for sake of simplicity.

Those are all, kind of part of the same ilk. A real genre, so hidden that not many will call it music. And truly, some of that stuff is like ice picks in your brain that you cannot dislodge, until the last note gives up the proverbial ghost.

After two short blurbs on cover albums by Therion and INK respectively, we are again going at it. This really starts to look like a new trend over here at the famous RMR office suite. I guess a serious talk with the office manager will be in order. 

This time the victim is the track Sensorium of Epica. Taken from their first album The Phantom Agony that came on-line some 15 years ago. Complete with a very young Simone Simons in her beginner’s shoes.
